OpenAI's Superalignment team, the company's team focused on ensuring the safety of possible future ultra-capable artificial intelligence (AI) systems has effectively been dissolved. The action was taken after two high-profile leaders — including OpenAI co-founder and chief scientist Ilya Sutskever — exited the AI startup. OpenAI says it is now integrating its Superalignment group more deeply across its research efforts to help the company achieve its safety goals.
